At the beginning of 2024, I had set a goal to earn the first $1 through writing.
I did that.
And after that, I wanted to quickly start monetizing my content. I had an absurd thought in my mind that making money through online writing should take very less time. And, when I could not do that, I felt frustrated.
Then, I took a pause and started writing slowly.
Here are a few questions that came to my mind which I did not think about initially.
How do I want to earn money through writing?( cohort-based program, digital products or newsletter)
Which program will demand my time in front of the laptop?(do I really want that?)
Is the mode of generating revenue through content matches my authentic personality?( I don’t want to show my face on camera)
Do I have enough topics to write infinitely for the money to flow?
Spending time with these questions gave me clue about what to write for starting to monetize content.
I figured out about newsletter business.
Here is a 1- min crash course if you want to know about it.
Then, I started connecting with people who have successful newsletter business and it gave me some ideas.
It all happened because I took the slow writing approach. Here are a few other benefits other than monetization.
It helps you to enjoy the writing process instead of feeling the burn out
